When night embraced the perfect fullmoon, that's when silence became the only sound existed. Not even a single cricket rubbing their wings nor the wind was strong enough blowing branches.
In the deep forest far from men's reach, a circle of wolves were formed, standing still to each other in their peculiarly big build, with gaze fixed on the man kneeling in the center.
That night had been exceptionally cold despite how quiet it was. It felt like stabbing his ribs and he had to fight back the urge to turn.
To join the others, seeking comfort and warmth behind the thick fur.
He had no idea how long he'd been kneeling with both fists on each side. But there was nothing on mind except for the absolute certainty that failure would never stop him, until the long-awaited roar broke the silence.
It's finally it. The time had come and there was no way back.
Without a single word, he knew exactly what he had to do next as he'd been told so many time before.
When he finally put his hands on the ground, he growled as his human form changed. Skin ripped, the pack symbol tattoo on his back started to get covered by thick grey fur as he completely turned into a wolf whose size as big as the brown one.
Under the moonlight and guarded by the whole pack members, the ritual of changing the Alpha had begun. And to accomplish it, the young wolf had no other choice but to get the better of the Alpha who's none other than his dad.
